Born in Japan, Akiko moved to New York to attend Parsons School of Design and graduated with BFA in illustration major.

She has worked at apparel design companies for years, by designing textile prints and embellishments, and worked on various clothing lines for clients such as Target, Sears, and Kohl's.

Akiko loves 19th century Symbolism and Art Deco, which hugely influenced on her illustration. Her paintings have exhibited in group/solo shows in New York and Tokyo.

She lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
